Types of hearing aids

1. Behind-the-ear (BTE)
A behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid hooks over the top of your ear and rests behind the ear.
2. Receiver-in-the-canal (RIC)
open-fit hearing aid that use a thin plastic “micro” tube that extends from the body of the hearing aid over the outer ear and into the ear canal.
3. Completely-in-canal (CIC)
CIC hearing aids are worn completely in your ear canal, and are a discreet and—often more affordable—option.
4. Invisible-in-canal (IIC)
This kind of hearing aid is designed and sculpted to fit entirely insides your ear canal.

Pure tone Audiometry-PTA
Pure-tone audiometry is a behavioral test used to measure hearing sensitivity. This measure involves the peripheral and central auditory systems.
Tympanometry- Tymp
tympanometry is a medical test that measures the function and movement of the eardrum and middle ear. The results of tympanometry are represented on a graph called a tympanogram.
BERA
Hearing loss in children is difficult to know from the beginning. Hearing loss can cause speech, language, cognitive, social and emotional problems. Therefore, it will be better if the hearing test in children is done early.
OAE
The OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions) test checks part of the inner ear’s response to sound. The test is mostly done on infants and children who may not be able to respond to behavioral hearing tests because of their age.
Speech
The test is usually completed in five to ten minutes and has two components – one measures your speech reception threshold (SRT) and the other determines your speech discrimination (SD) abilities.
Hearing Aid Trail- HAT
A person with hearing loss which cannot be surgically or medically corrected is rehabilitated with amplification devices. Hearing aids do not restore hearing ability but they boost up the signal.

She has served for 3.5 years as an Assistant Professor, contributing to academic excellence and mentoring future professionals. She then spent 5 years at Genpact India as a Business Analyst, working closely with India’s leading pharmaceutical company, where she gained deep exposure to corporate operations, data-driven decision-making, and pharmaceutical business processes.
Driven by an entrepreneurial vision and a long-standing aspiration to build something impactful, she co-founded Hearkens alongside her spouse. Since joining the organization, she has been responsible for structuring and overseeing the company’s financial framework, ensuring operational stability and sustainable growth.
Currently, she leads the financial planning and analysis while actively shaping the digital marketing strategy, aligning business objectives with market trends and digital innovation. Her role involves in-depth industry research, strategic collaboration with Dr. Chitaranjan, and strengthening Hearkens’ market presence.
Vision & Objective:
Her objective is to contribute to Hearkens’ growth by combining financial discipline with strategic digital initiatives, enabling the organization to achieve new milestones.
